Oftentimes, it feels like there is a perpetual
disconnect between what happens in church and what happens in the home. Our modern culture insists on trying to drive a wedge between these two central aspects of our lives. Despite this, most of us know, deep down, that it
shouldn’t be this way. Fortunately, there’s a solution!
Join the Alcuin Institute as
Fr. Aquinas Guilbeau, from the Dominican House of Studies in Washington D.C., shares with us his insights into strengthening the domestic Church by looking to monastic life. His lecture, entitled,
Building the Domestic Church: Wisdom from the Dominican Cloister will explore a traditional Dominican cloister (chapel, refectory, chapter room, front entrance) and the activities that take place there, exploring how the Dominican lifestyle contains valuable lessons for family life!
The event will be held at Holy Family Cathedral on April 17th. The evening will begin with a brief social at 6pm, followed by Fr. Aquinas's lecture, a Q/A session, and a concluding social (with dessert!) afterwards. The event will conclude by 8pm.
Space is limited, so be sure to register early with the form below!
