PERSONA CHRISTI SERVI
The diaconal life is a conformity and fidelity to the life of Christ as servant: a servant to the Word, a servant to the Altar, and a servant to the Poor. As such it requires a special, and very intentional, formation. The sacred character of holy orders perfects and brings to full maturation the natural gifts of the diaconate candidate and therefore much effort is placed in forming the whole man: intellectually, spiritually, pastorally, and humanly in preparation for the graces of ordination and service to the Diocese.
The Alcuin Institute is committed to providing the necessary intellectual formation to the men seeking ordination. It does so by governing and manning the six-year, intensive, holistic and integrated program that prepares future deacons to be men of virtue, strength, integrity, holiness and charity.
