The Diaconate Formation curriculum provides a "systematic, comprehensive, and integrated" program of study that addresses the fourfold dimensions of diaconal formation. It schools the men in necessary philosophical and artistic preamble, before turning to explore the nine areas of theological content as prescribed by the National Directory. The crowning jewel of the curriculum is its "Great Book" sequencing wherein the men become intimately familiar with the complete arc of humanities perennial quest for meaning.
The program meets for one whole weekend once a month throughout the year.
